Our services

  • When you schedule an appointment, you can expect a thorough eye test designed to assess your visual health and detect any underlying conditions. To ensure we can provide a comprehensive examination, we kindly ask that you allow at least 40 minutes for your appointment. During your appointment, our experienced optometrists Fran and Rowena will conduct a series of tests to evaluate various aspects of your eye health. These tests include measuring your eye pressure, assessing corneal curvature and thickness – all essential factors in assessing your overall eye health and visual acuity. As part of the examination, we will also assess your vision and review your current glasses prescription. This comprehensive assessment allows us to determine any necessary adjustments or updates to ensure optimal visual clarity.

  • We believe in making eye care accessible to all, and therefore, we offer free NHS eye tests to eligible individuals. You may qualify for a free NHS eye test if you fall into one of the following categories:

Individuals under 16 years of age

Students aged 16, 17, or 18 who are in full-time education

    Individuals aged 60 or over

Individuals registered as partially sighted or blind

Individuals diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma

Individuals aged 40 or over with a family history of glaucoma (mother, father, sibling, or child)

Individuals identified as being at risk of glaucoma by an eye doctor (ophthalmologist)

    Prisoners on leave from prison

Individuals eligible for an NHS complex lens voucher – our opticians can provide further guidance on your entitlement.

  • In addition to our standard eye tests, we offer retinal imaging through our high-tech retinal OCT scanning equipment. This technology aids in detecting early signs of various eye-related diseases and conditions. Early detection is crucial in providing timely treatment and maximizing the chances of successful outcomes. We recommend considering the benefits of including a retinal imaging scan in your eye test.

  • “I have had two post-op eye tests with Frances. She is professional & courteous whilst being funny and approachable. I have never encountered such a thorough test and Frances is genuinely interested in previous issues and actually listened to me. The shop has plenty of parking around and I never struggled to find a parking place and the shop is light and airy with adequate seating. Even though I travel quite a way I would not dream of going anywhere else now.”

Not to mention they saved my sight by seeing me last minute when I thought I just had a small problem. After sending me straight to A and E, their follow up care has been amazing.
